Foxhills Club and Resort: ‘Leave feeling better than when you arrived’

Located in Chertsey, Surrey, just 25 miles from London, the country estate aims to ensure delegates leave feeling better than they did when they arrived, Sally Raith-Riches, group director of sales at the Foxhills Collection, tells M&IT.

Foxhills is set across 400 acres and is home to a variety of flexible event spaces, with 66 hotel rooms, spa facilities and golf courses.

Extra-meeting activity ideas include yoga classes, pilates, beekeeping, sip and paint classes and tennis games.

Raith-Riches added that it’s the perfect place to do business, in a peaceful and tranquil environment.

Wyboston Lakes Resort launches Sandpiper Bay

Wyboston Lakes Resort has created a new meeting and events space; outdoors beside a lake.

Sandpiper Bay, which has seating for up to 200 people, is ideal for meetings, team-building events or simply socialising with colleagues in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere.

Situated just outside the Lakeview Suite of the resort’s Waterfront Hotel, it features covered outdoor seating and five beach huts for meetings.

For those who enjoy team collaboration and competition, there are plenty of games for a mini-Olympics including Darts, Cornhole, Beer Pong, Connect Four and Giant Jenga. For those wanting to sit and relax, there is a selection of board games as well as a small library.

The Laundry House

Gilmerton House, East Lothian, Scotland, a country retreat nestled in the heart of Scotland’s countryside, is delighted to announce the newest addition to its range of facilities with the launch of its new event space: The Laundry House.

The newly renovated event space, located at the rear of the house, is the perfect venue for private parties, corporate events, and weddings and is available as an additional space alongside, or independently, of the main house.

Originally built in 1804, Gilmerton House can accommodate up to 100 seated guests, making it ideal for both large and small events. The venue includes a spacious main room, with dark beamed roof, wood and flagstone tiled floor, and has a beautiful outdoor terrace.

The long-awaited 1 Hotel Mayfair opens

1 Hotel Mayfair has made its debut as the first European property of the 1 Hotel’s mission-driven portfolio. 

Located on Berkeley Street, overlooking Green Park, the eight-storey hotel is steps from green spaces including St James’ Park and Hyde Park.

The hotel boasts 181 keys consisting of 137 rooms and 44 suites - including the largest one-bedroom Penthouse in Mayfair with views of Green Park.

The hotel is also home to: Dovetale, the ground-floor restaurant from Two Michelin starred chef Tom Sellers, Dover Yard, a signature cocktail bar and lounge featuring a locally-sourced drinks programme, Neighbours, a lively daytime café and evening bar, Wellness area on the first floor, where guests can work out in an uplifting space as well as enjoy the Mayfair-specific treatments by long-time partner Bamford Wellness Spa.

Opting for reconstruction over new construction, the property, built to BREEAM Excellent standards, utilised 80 per cent of the existing structure, which was repurposed to minimise adverse environmental impact. 

Burnley FC joins Lime Venue Portfolio

The club were crowned champions of the Championship last season, and won promotion to the Premier League, taking the portfolio up to five stadiums in the top flight, for the coming 2023/24 campaign.

The arrival of Burnley FC will also expand the group’s reach in the North of England. Recent research by Lime Venue Portfolio has shown a growing demand by business event organisers for ‘locality’ within venue selection.

Stuart Hunt, director, Burnley FC, said: “Turf Moor stadium and Burnley FC have been a constant fixture within the local community for well over a century and we want our events business to reflect both our affinity with the people of East Lancashire, but also the increasingly global reach and profile of our football team.”

Oakfuskee Conservation and Conference Center in west central Georgia is slated to open in December

Oakfuskee Conservation Center, located near Georgia's West Point Lake, is set to open its door to delegates in December 2023. 

The multi-use, two-story facility is near LaGrange, Georgia, in the United States, an hour south of Atlanta. 

The 2,300 sqm facility will host events of all sizes and can accommodate up to 400 guests.

New York’s PUBLIC unveils its revamped event space

There are new revamped venue spaces being unveiled this summer at PUBLIC, located in the Lower East Side of New York City.
