Tapas and wine tasting in Madrid

One of Spain’s most beloved exports, the tapa is a small dish that allows guests to explore the culinary tradition of a city. In Madrid, tapas is an art form. A ‘Tapas Hunter’ will test participants’ orientation skills on a foodie journey through selected bars in Spain’s 24-hour capital. On the way, delegates will learn about the region’s wines and enjoy anecdotes about 18th-century Madrid, while wandering through the city’s streets. Or take the tour in a Seat 600 – a car that has mythical status in Spanish motor history, evoking the Madrid of the 1960s through its streets, history and some of its most famous neighbourhoods.

Calçots and castells in Catalonia

Castells are a unique and awe-inspiring tradition, recognised as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, consisting of 10-metre human towers. `Tarragona, Ciutat de Castells´ introduces guests to the world of the castellers. The values that inspire the castells will help participants learn about leadership, team spirit and trust. Professionals will help the group build a small castell – safely! The group can then unwind and congratulate themselves with a calçotada, a popular Catalan dish consisting of tender grilled onions in a rosemary-based sauce, best served at a traditional family farmhouse.

How do you make an authentic Valencian paella? Groups have the opportunity to learn at a Paella Cooking Show experience at a traditional farmhouse where a master chef demonstrates. Include an horchata tasting - a special local drink - in the Alquería del Machistre, which houses the Horchata Museum. Here participants learn about growing tiger nuts, its key ingredient. Afterwards, taste it with fartons, a typical Valencian sweet that is dipped in horchata.

Flamenco in Andalusia

Experience Flamenco at its heart in Andalusia. It is in the magnificent cities of Seville and Granada that you will find the sanctum of this art and some of the most famous centres in the world. In the Barrio de Santa Cruz neighbourhood of Seville, for instance, there are numerous shows, studios and the Museum of Flamenco Dance, where groups can participate in an interactive flamenco class followed by a visit and spectacular flamenco show while dining under a historic vault.
