A ‘wee wow’ at Cameron House

The 17^th-century Cameron House, with its enchanting turrets and baronial charm, is perched on the banks of Loch Lomond, Scotland’s largest loch at 71 square kilometres and 190 meters deep.

A 30-minute drive from Glasgow Airport and Glasgow Central Train Station will deliver delegates to the picturesque property, framed by a landscape that was carved out by melting glaciers 11,000 years ago. Cameron House has a fleet of Audis and a luxury 8-seater coach that can be utilised for airport transfers for smaller groups.

Karen Avery, director of MICE sales at Cameron House explained that for larger groups, Cameron House can help organisers coordinate transfer from multiple pick-up points.

Cameron House reopened in September 2021, and during its four-year closure, the venue worked closely with its American owners KSL Capital Partners and architects 3DReid to restore the decadent property to its former glory.

Cameron House also took this opportunity to add more bedrooms and extend its meetings and conferencing facilities into the new, purpose-built Lomond Wing.

The multi-million-pound extension scaled up the resort’s facilities, adding 68 new spacious bedrooms and suites, an impressive 700 sqm ballroom and a new loch-facing terrace.

Built to delight and amaze, the wing’s crowning glory, the Loch Lomond Suite has a dedicated grand entrance with capacity for up to 400 delegates reception style and 300 for a seated dinner.

The floor-to-ceiling windows in the Suite allow ample natural light to flood the room during daytime events and gently frame the awe-inspiring 24-mile-long Loch Lomond.

The Loch Fyne Suite can accommodate up to 300 delegates, with a removable wall that can divide the Suite in two. A private bar also serves the Suite making it an ideal room for day-to-night events.

The most intimate of the purpose-built suites is the Loch Katrine Suite with a capacity for up to 200 people.

In addition, Cameron House also has three very unique meeting spaces, including the 1920s art-deco-themed, 29-seat Cameron Cinema.

The cinema plays current films twice daily and can be hired for exclusive use for events.

The Morning Room and The Library, sit on either side of the grand hotel foyer.

The Morning Room is an ideal space for intimate meetings and private dinners, while The Library, which homes a collection of works from former Cameron House resident and famed Scottish novelist, Tobias Smollett, is a bookable space for intimate cocktail receptions or as a breakout space.

Cameron House also has a few unique meeting spaces including the 10-seater seaplane that takes off from and lands on Loch Lomond, providing a wholly unique meeting space.

The pilot can take you on a tour of the islands that populate Loch Lomond, even stopping off at the Isle of Inchmurrin for a bite to eat in its remote restaurant.

The 10-seat Celtic Warrior yacht is arguably one of the most stylish places to conduct business or indulge in a Champagne cruise when the business day is done.

Five-star scran and signature cocktails

From BBQs by the loch to gala dinners or dining in Cameron House’s selection of restaurants and bars, there are various options available for MICE events to suit the preferences of the group.

Locally sourced ingredients feature front and centre on Cameron House menus. From delicate Loch Fyne oysters to lean and flavour-packed venison, the menus are created to showcase the finest Scottish produce for an international palette.

The Cameron Grill serves as the hotel’s main restaurant, serving breakfast and dinner, daily.

Unobstructed views across Loch Lomond from almost any table in the restaurant make for a delightful dinner setting, with options including Cullen Skink, North Sea Lemon Sole, and Aberdeenshire lamb rump all adding to the quintessential Scottish experience.

The Tavern bar, in the Cameron Leisure Club, is where hearty pub grub with a gastronomic flair can be devoured. The laid-back bar and restaurant makes for an ideal spot for post-dinner relaxing, as does the Great Scots Bar, stocked with more than 300 varieties of the ‘water of life.’

Weaved together with intimate seating areas dressed in pleasing tartan combinations, the Great Scots Bar is an ideal venue for a pre or post-dinner drinks reception. For those who enjoy a dram of whisky, and even for those yet to be convinced by its peaty notes, the signature ‘Kilt Lifter’ cocktail, consisting of single malt whisky, Drambuie and sweetened lime juice, is all too easily quaffable.  

Feeling a wee wabbit?

Rest your head in opulent comfort in one of the 208 delightful bedrooms, including 30 exquisite suites in the original house.

During the refurbishment, principal designer Thomson Gray and interior designer firm Greyline Design aligned efforts to showcase Scotland’s rich heritage through considered furnishings of tartan throws and thistle-monogrammed pillowcases.

The suites offer an exclusive experience for VIP delegates, with a complimentary bar stocked with the finest Scottish products.

Teambuilding with a twist

Cameron House sits at the Highland Boundary Fault line, the boundary separating the Lowlands of central Scotland and the Highlands.

The distinctive landscapes, defined by the verdant hills, including Ben Lomond, and the wildlife that call it home, including eagles and otters, provide abundant opportunities for spirited experiences.

With a fleet of 10 classic Land Rover Defenders, extensive knowledge of the local terrain and boundless enthusiasm, the team behind 4x4 Adventures are guaranteed to put on a good show for your group.

Groups can try their hand at off-road driving in the highlands, followed by a quintessentially Scottish charcuterie board of locally smoked venison, wild smoked trout, and whisky, all while being serenaded by a bagpiper. The team can also personalise teambuilding packages to include Highland Games, completing challenges in the Clan Warrior experience and scavenger hunts in the Hilltop Hijinks challenge.

While the natural landscape and variety of cool vessels (think seaplane and private yacht) offer guests thrilling teambuilding and incentive opportunities, the activities don’t need to be listed in the brochure for them to be possible. Cameron House sales and events executive Natalie Arthur, explains that the resort is always open to client requests. “We welcome suggestions and ideas for activities that clients wish to pursue; we're always receptive to requests, and there's little we cannot accommodate. We take pride in delivering those special moments, also known here as wee wows, that truly impress our clients.

Relax and unwind

Whether teeing off on an 18-hole championship golf course set across a naturally contoured landscape or stepping into a thermal spa is your way of relaxing, Cameron Club and Spa has you covered. This facility is around a five-minute drive from Cameron House and the hotel offers free shuttle services between sites.

Up to 80 delegates can participate in corporate golfing experiences on The Carrick, from entire rounds of golf to mini-challenges. The in-house golf pros will help you with your swing and even compete against you if you’re up for the challenge.

The Cameron Club Spa boasts a rooftop infinity pool overlooking Ben Lomond, as well as a hydrotherapy pool, experience showers with invigorating cold mist or a soft scented tropical shower and the relaxation pool with jacuzzi provides an ideal spot to get in some lengths.

The spa offers a range of ESPA treatments, including indulgent massages, facials and body wraps.
