Room2 Belfast for the creative and environmentally conscious guest

Belfast's Room2 is dedicated to making every guest feel at home in the most stylish and sustainable way possible.

It's a cool ethos that resonates with modern business travellers.

Room2 Belfast is part of the Lamington Group, a creative and environmentally conscious hospitality group, specialising in accommodation for short, medium and long stays in a ‘hometel’ style that’s motivated to be net zero.

How is Room2 working towards net zero?

Room2 Belfast runs on 100 per cent renewable electricity and low carbon renewable energy, meaning no natural gasses are used. Some of the property's renewable energy is generated through the solar panels on the roof and the rest is purchased from renewable sources like hydro and wind offsite.

Room2 is also heated and cooled using an air source heat pump; this helps reduce electricity consumption and lower carbon emissions.

The property uses LED lighting and A-rated appliances where possible, with occupancy-enabled in-room lighting.

The property also has a zero-waste-to-landfill policy and even designed and manufactured its own 3-in-1 recycling bins to fit the Room2 design aesthetic. All collected waste is recycled or turned into energy.

Lamington Group also reps the certified B Corp accreditation which means its operational processes and procedures have been analysed from every sustainability angle and have been found to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

Modern meetings

Room2 has a collection of contemporary meeting rooms with space for up to 120 people. The Kitchen Workshop is a large, bright room featuring a dining table for up to 10 dinners, perfect for private dining, supper clubs or cook-offs with colleagues.

Workshop One lives in a corner of the hotel, offering panoramic views and plenty of daylight. The versatile space is ideal for all-day meetings, fitness classes, yoga sessions and more.

Workshop Two and Workshop Three offer equally delightful meeting spaces, flooded by natural light thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Sleepyhead

Room2 Belfast boasts five room categories, each fitted with every mod-con a business traveller needs. The entry-level 18.5 to 21.5 sqm Sleepwell rooms are beautifully furnished but windowless. Ideal for one or two nights for guests who are only using the hotel as somewhere to sleep.

The 19 sqm Bedrooms feature a king bed, a sofa, a desk, and a 42-inch TV, but no kitchenette, making the bedroom ideal for short-stay guests or those who endeavour to check out Belfast’s gastronomic scene.

The 23 sqm Studios are seeped in natural light and offer everything the Bedrooms do, plus a kitchenette. The Loft rooms add to this with the addition of a bunk bed – ideal for delegates travelling with family or just lots of luggage.

The Suites are the largest rooms available at 39 sqm, offering a king bed, kitchenette, dishwashers, a sofa, a desk and a 50-inch TV.

Onsite laundry and fitness facilities also add to the ‘hometel’ vibe at Room2 and help every guest maintain their usual daily routines.

Design

A handful of talented local artists were commissioned to hand paint artworks and murals around the hotel.

Rebecca O’Doherty’s fine art found in reception aims to evoke emotion and spark the imagination while Jamie Beard’s portraiture illustrations line the inside of the wardrobes and convey a richness of Irish mythology and folklore.

Feeling peckish?

Hands up if you’ve ever been to a hotel with its own tea emporium?

My hand remained down until I visited the Rosie Lee tearoom at Room2. Offering 15 varieties of tea to suit each moment of the day, why not indulge your tea-buds with the Taste the Range unlimited tea package for £5.95 per person, per day?

Winnie’s Café offers both an a la carte Breakfast menu and an all-day menu. Throughout the day guests can choose from a range of focaccia sandwiches, salads, and bar snacks. Food is served daily from 7am - 10pm, with a pizza menu available from midday - 10pm daily.
