MARAYA – A VENUE OF SAND AND STARS
Located in the Ashar Valley, Maraya is an amazing new event venue, a modern wonder in a place of ancient wonders. Maraya means mirror in Arabic, and almost 10,000 sqm of exterior mirrors reflect the surrounding natural landscape of the valley, making the building look as if it is built of sand and stars.
Designed by Italian architect Florian Boje of Gio Forma, and built in 2019, this spectacular building was named the world’s largest mirrored structure by Guinness World Records in 2020.
A work of art itself, Maraya’s glittering exterior seamlessly reflects the incredible cliffs, rock formations and sunsets of its surroundings.
Offering a unique proposition for businesses to ‘mirror’ their own brands, Maraya is home to AlUla’s growing arts and culture scene. The 26m-high theatre seats 550 people and a retractable 800 sqm window seamlessly opens to bring the native landscape in.
The Maraya Concert Hall has hosted highly anticipated performances, VIP experiences and pop-up events, including concerts by global superstars such as Andrea Bocelli and Enrique Iglesias, the first Hegra Conference of Nobel Prize Laureates 2020 and recently the successful 2021 GCC Summit.

The flexible event spaces include a main auditorium seating 550, a conference hall for 200, a roof terrace for up to 100 and 11 VIP meeting rooms for up to 23 along with foyers and lounges.
ACCESS
Access to Maraya is currently via the gateways of Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam with short domestic connections to AlUla - ULH. AlUla is designated an international airport with capacity to manage private jets and international charters.
WHERE TO STAY
Properties close by in the Ashar Valley include the five-star Habitas AlUla and five-star Banyan Tree. Within 15 minutes are the three-star Sahary AlUla Resort and four-star Shaden Resort.
