Driving the future of business

Designed to bring people together, IBTM World 2023 is taking place at Fira, Barcelona on 28-30 November

“The resurgence in exhibitor numbers illustrates the importance of IBTM World in creating a platform for connection and community. The vast and diverse exhibitor participation represents more opportunities to do business, as well as indicating the robustness of the global business events sector. We’re thrilled to see the return of several exhibitors as well as welcoming new ones and we look forward to an exciting show where attendees come together to shape the future of business events.”

Vasyl Zhygalo, IBTM World’s Portfolio Director

Item 1 of 3

This year’s IBTM World 2023 will include new and exciting elements and a targeted education programme.

The Impact Stage will make its debut, showcasing the work that suppliers are doing across sustainability, D&I and experience design, plus see the launch of the annual Global Destination Report. Sessions will be no longer than 20-minutes and in the form of case studies and best-practice.

Also new this year is Workplace Revolution - a welcoming space where attendees can make valuable connections. IBTM’s wellbeing hub has re-branded asReFuel’, a zen-like pod giving attendees time and space to relax and recharge.

The Main Stage will see speakers tackle the latest topics through keynotes, panel debates and game-changing research. There will be an afternoon of inspiring marketing content

The new-look Association Leaders’ Forum (ALF) will take place on day one in partnership with the ESAE (European Society of Association Executives) and will open with a look at association trends for 2024 from Mike Morrissey, ESAE President, and CEO of the European Cancer Organisation. A debate will follow on travel and sustainability before a panel discussion on how associations can change the world for the better.

As usual there will be a wide range of global destinations exhibiting as well as the hotel sector. This year Morocco will bring its trademark hospitality to the Hosted Buyer Lounge.

Focus on incentive travel

IBTM World’s 2023 Incentive Travel Report indicates that the recovery of the incentive travel sector is going from strength to strength, with its global market value projected to reach £174 billion by 2031. The report, written by IBTM Contributor Mike Fletcher, finds that the sector is growing at an annual rate of 12.1 per cent, and predicts that the number of people participating in incentive travel programmes worldwide will grow by 61 per cent in 2024, compared to 2019.

Incentive travel schemes are an increasingly valuable resource to attract, retain and motivate talent as the modern workforce becomes ever more disparate with working-from-home and hybrid working. For more information, or to view the report in full, click here
