Resilient Renewable Planet (P2P) Conference 2023
Imperial College London is an internationally renowned STEMB (science, technology, engineering, medicine and business) university. Sir Alexander Fleming was working at Imperial when he discovered penicillin in 1928 and went on to win a Nobel prize.
Having hosted some of the most influential people from across the globe, including Bill Gates and Rishi Sunak, the late Professor Stephen Hawking and Joe Biden, the University’s first-class event spaces, accommodation and catering services help to create innovative environments for learning and collaboration. Celesta Venues is a natural choice for academic conferences, seminars, training programmes and other educational groups.
Excellent accessibility
Celesta Venues offers two great campus locations in London.
Central London: South Kensington
The flagship venue in South Kensington offers a range of spaces from modern auditoria, a Grade-II listed townhouse, classrooms, lecture theatres and a banqueting hall.
The Great Hall is the largest auditorium, accommodating up to 758 delegates. When combined with the Queen’s Tower Rooms for exhibition or banqueting space, and the Seminar and Learning Centre for breakout spaces, it provides a fantastic option for conferences.
Rated four-star (campus accommodation category) by Visit England, there are more than 1,000 on-site bedrooms with a 24-hour reception, tea and coffee-making facilities and complimentary toiletries.
Excellent public transport links include South Kensington and Gloucester Road tube stations less than a 10-minute walk away, London Victoria mainline station just 15 minutes away and Kings Cross St Pancras, with links to Europe via the Eurostar, just 30 minutes away. Heathrow and Gatwick Airports are easily accessible in less than an hour.
West London: North Acton
The newest Celesta Venues’ complex is just two minutes from North Acton tube station providing quick and direct access to central London.
Its Woodward and Kemp Porter Buildings offer 1,200 modern bedrooms, rated four-star campus accommodation by Visit England, and there are flexible meeting and kitchen spaces.
Sustainability
Celesta Venues has embraced Imperial College London’s environmental policy, driven by a bold vision to create a sustainable, zero-pollution future.
- Excellent public transport links enable delegates to travel with a reduced carbon footprint
- Plastic has been replaced across the food service; other initiatives include oil filtration, which has reduced the consumption of cooking oil by 57 per cent
- The in-house catering team works with suppliers such as Sea Change, offering an ethically-sourced, eco-friendly wine range
CSR: all profits are reinvested back into the University, supporting its ground-breaking education and research. From championing sustainable energy sources to tackling water scarcity and ocean plastics, Imperial is dedicated to driving positive change across the globe.
