Located in Switzerland’s Bernese Oberland on an alluvial plain between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, Interlaken is framed by the mighty Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains. It provides a magnificent setting for all manner of events.

This stunning location and glorious scenery helped Interlaken to become famous in the early 19th century as a popular destination for lovers of the outdoors including Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. It remains as big a draw today.

Offering a wide variety of recreational activities through the changing seasons from skiing to walking, mountain excursions to watersports on the glittering lakes, Congress Kursaal Interlaken can help tailor incentive and social programmes to the needs of any group. From adventure activities to cosy evenings and moonlit dinners, sedate lake cruises and guided hikes catering to individual levels of fitness, bespoke programme options can be designed to incorporate the requirements of each participant.

Blue-sky thinking

For convention programmes, there are many opportunities for activities offering invigorating mountain air and breathtaking scenery:

  • Journey to the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe for arguably one of the world’s most sensational views. Amid a world of ice, snow and rock, witness the longest glacier in the Alps, a UNESCO World Heritage site, as you overlook Italy, France and Germany
  • Take a half-hour aerial cable car to the Schilthorn - Piz Gloria at a height of nearly 3,000 metres to experience an unforgettable 360-degree panorama
  • Take a helicopter tour over the Stockhorn summit, bungy jump or just enjoy the views from the Panoramic Platform as far as the Black Forest
  • A cable car to Niederhorn offers views of the deep blue Lake Thun and the entire Bernese Alps
  • Lake Thun and the smaller Lake Brienz offer different cruising and sporting experiences but both linger long in the memory.
