Conversations that move the world

Sabah International Convention Centre prides itself on creating an environment where meaningful connections flourish. The warm local hospitality, rich culture and natural beauty all help to set it apart

Borneo’s largest purpose-built waterfront convention venue, Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) is redefining its role in the Asia Pacific meetings landscape. Taking pride in being a venue where ‘Conversations that move the world’ take root, it is gaining a reputation for facilitating global dialogue, cross border collaboration and industry advancement.

With more than 23,000 sqm of flexible event space along Kota Kinabalu’s striking seafront, it has welcomed international congresses, high-level forums, large exhibitions, incentive programmes and government-to-government meetings.

Its world-class infrastructure - paired with strong operational delivery, in-house technical expertise and the warmth of Sabah’s hospitality - creates an environment where meaningful connections can flourish.

BE in SABAH 2026

A clear expression of this mission is BE in SABAH, the Centre’s flagship international business events forum. Designed to strengthen Asia Pacific collaboration and position Sabah as a strategic gateway to the East ASEAN growth corridor, the 2025 edition gathered 747 delegates, including 161 international participants. This balance of global, national and local voices reflects SICC’s growing importance as a venue where ideas are exchanged, partnerships are formed and discussion shapes the region’s future.

The 2026 edition is taking place from 4-5 February 2026 under the theme ‘Global Collaboration Through Business Events’. With 29 speakers and moderators from 16 countries, BE in SABAH 2026 will bring together an exceptional line-up of convention bureau leaders, senior association executives, economists, destination strategists, global city advisors, industry consultants and corporate sector decision-makers. Representing both established and emerging markets across Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East, the programme will examine how business events influence trade, investment, regional confidence and collaborative growth.

BIGSABAH Sale

As the organiser of the region’s largest consumer and trade exhibition, SICC delivers major regional marketplace events such as BIGSABAH Sale 2025, which attracted more than 80,000 visitors and featured 650 booths across three days. Designed to connect communities and industries across markets, beyond borders, the event helped to reinforce SICC’s role as a dynamic hub for commerce, innovation and public engagement.

World-renowned natural attractions

Complementing its facilities, SICC offers access to some of the planet’s most remarkable natural environments. Delegates can explore Sabah’s world-renowned attractions from UNESCO-recognised Kinabalu Park to the ancient rainforests of Danum Valley, Maliau Basin, Imbak Canyon and the surrounding marine sanctuaries.

This blend of world-class meeting infrastructure, cultural depth and natural beauty sets Sabah apart as an inspiring destination for planners seeking fresh, meaningful experiences.

As SICC continues to expand its international reach, its guiding principle remains clear: to be a venue where ideas progress, partnerships strengthen and Conversations that move the world begin.
