Pre-Covid, world-renowned Changi Airport was serviced by more than 120 airlines operating to almost 420 cities in more than 100 countries, with over 7,400 scheduled weekly flights.

As of 1 April 2023, 102 airlines operate more than 6,000 weekly scheduled flights at Changi Airport, linking Singapore to 145 cities across 49 countries and territories. This brings the passenger traffic to more than 45 per cent of pre-Covid levels.

Lau Pa Sat and Amoy Street Food Centre are two other hawker centres for foodies to consider, selling everything from satay (grilled meat skewers) and char kway teow (stir-fried rice noodles in dark soya sauce) to fishball noodles and curry puffs. Grand Hyatt

Nestled in the Orchard Road area, Singapore's iconic shopping and entertainment district, Grand Hyatt Singapore is expected to reopen following extensive refurbishment by the end of 2023.

The reimagined hotel, with bold, vibrant spaces, will provide distinct atmospheres that blend seamlessly in both the Grand Wing, a Grand Living Room where guests convene and celebrate, and Terrace Wing, an urban oasis and wellness haven steps from the bustling streets with lush landscaping and a cascading waterfall. What's coming up

Conrad Singapore Orchard

Opening in early 2024, the hotel will be an elegant oasis with 440 stylish rooms and suites, Michelin starred restaurants and more than 1,500 sqm of event spaces with 14 contemporary event venues, including seven sunlit meeting rooms.

Singapore Edition

Expected to open by the end of 2023, this will be EDITION's first hotel in Southeast Asia. Offering 204 rooms and suites, the property will be located in the heart of the upper Orchard Road shopping district, the most popular destination for retail and entertainment. In addition to five restaurant and bar venues, a rooftop pool, spa and fitness centre, plans also call for 600 sqm of indoor and outdoor meeting space for events.

Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa

Scheduled to open in 2024, this all-villa resort will be set in more than 100,000 sqm of extensive tropical gardens with views over the South China Sea.

Ranging from 260 sqm in size, all 62 villas will have their own private pool and terrace area for the ultimate secluded retreat. Facilities will include a bespoke bar, world-class restaurants, a well-appointed fitness centre, a multi-purpose celebrations room, state-of-the-art meeting spaces and a grand ballroom that can host up to 400 people.

Botanic Gardens

A testament to Singapore's reputation as a City in a Garden, the Botanic Gardens is the country's first UNESCO Heritage Site. Established in 1859 by the Agri-Horticultural Society, 60 acres of land were transformed from a disused plantation into the popular recreational garden you see today. Highlights include The National Orchid Garden, which boasts the world's largest orchid display, with more than 60,000 plants and orchid plants.

Singapore Side Cars

This example incentive itinerary will show your delegates the best of Singapore over four days and three nights. They ll marvel at Gardens by the Bay, learn about the culture and history of the world's only city-state and sample some of the best food in Asia.

Day one: Cultural discovery

Morning

Enjoy a local breakfast, followed by morning Tai Chi at the Singapore Botanic Gardens UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, immerse yourself in a world of colourful flowers at the Orchid Garden.

Afternoon

Break into smaller groups and depart on a cultural tour around the key districts of Chinatown, Little India and Katong-Joo Chiat. Stop off along the way to try delicious local hawker fare such as chicken rice and laksa, a spicy noodle soup.

Evening

Have a world-famous Singapore Sling at Raffles Hotel, followed by a Chilli Crab seafood dinner in one of many excellent restaurants overlooking Marina Bay or the riverside.

Day two: Modern metropolis

Morning

Visit the Civic District and Marina Bay and see how a cosmopolitan city combines the traditional and modern. Stop by the URA City Gallery and learn more about Singapore's dramatic transformation over the past 50 years to become one of the most liveable cities in Asia.

Afternoon

Take a traditional bumboat cruise along the Singapore River. Spot iconic landmarks including the Merlion and Esplanade, Singapore's performing arts theatre. The theatre is shaped like the durian, known as the King of Fruits . End the afternoon with a tour of Marina Bay Sands, an iconic property home to the world's largest rooftop infinity pool.

Evening

Treat your delegates to a delightful cocktail at Jigger and Pony, named Asia's number two bar in 2023 by World's Best Bars. Then it's time to get your dancing shoes on at Zouk, Singapore's top venue for globally recognised DJs.

Day three: City in nature

Morning

Visit the Tekka market to find the freshest produce, tropical fruits and fragrant spices. Then, pick your own ingredients and learn how to cook local dishes in a culinary class.

Afternoon

Visit Gardens by the Bay and be awed by the world's largest glass greenhouse. There are more than 1,500,000 plants and flowers here, as well as the instantly recognisable Supertree Grove.

Evening

Take your delegates for dinner amid the tranquillity of the rainforest at the Night Safari, the world's first nocturnal wildlife park. As dusk falls they will enjoy beautiful views of the lush Seletar Reservoir.

Day four: Island life

Morning

Visit Sentosa, an island 10 minutes away from the city. Settle down in a comfy chair at Tanjong Beach Club or, if you need more of an adrenaline rush, take the opportunity to bungee jump from the 50-metre tower.

Afternoon

Choose from one of Sentosa's 10 island spas and indulge in a unique Asian treatment to soothe, relax and recharge. Alternatively, if spas aren t your thing, get out on the golf course against a backdrop of the Singapore Straits.

Evening

Embark on one of Singapore's tall ships for a sunset sail around Sentosa and the southern Islands. End the evening at the exclusive Sentosa Cove for dinner.

Singapore is a City in Nature, where large experiences come with small footprints. Through a collective movement, it is reducing the impact on the environment by developing offerings that are both innovative and sustainable.

Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Singapore Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers (SACEOS) has set clear targets and strategies to raise sustainability standards across Singapore's MICE industry.

Guided by the Singapore Green Plan 2030 and the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals, the MICE Sustainability Roadmap lists specific targets designed to position Singapore as one of the most sustainable MICE destinations in Asia Pacific. It includes the tracking of waste and carbon emissions, reducing waste and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 in line with the national net-zero target.

Launched in January 2024, Singapore MICE Sustainability Certification (MSC) is designed to equip and certify businesses adopting sustainable practices in events and raise #sustainability standards across Singapore’s #MICE industry. A major step forward in its sustainability journey, it was developed by SACEOS with the support of Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and in consultation with members and industry players. 

The Singapore MSC is a well-recognised and locally developed initiative with a new framework that builds on the first MICE Sustainability Certification introduced in 2016. It aims to reinforce Singapore’s position as a leading sustainable MICE destination and is aligned with the targets set out in the MICE Sustainability Roadmap. This includes the development of a set of sustainability standards and a certification framework that the industry can readily apply, and to achieve nationally or internationally recognised sustainability certification for 80 per cent of SACEOS members and the six purpose-built MICE venues by the end of 2025. The Singapore MSC incorporates international benchmarks in certifying MICE players for their adoption of sustainable practices at both an organisational and event level. Beyond certification, it aims to drive awareness of sustainability in events and encourages MICE players and organisations to integrate sustainable practices in all aspects of management when planning events.

Business Events in Singapore (BEiS)

Singapore is a great place to do business, and SECB seeks to encourage the growth of quality events with fresh, exciting and innovative content in the country. Through the Business Events in Singapore (BEiS) scheme, SECB offers customised support such as help in securing venues, introductions to leading government agencies and business partners, marketing and publicity support, as well as assistance in hosting impactful sustainable events. Eligible companies will receive funding support based on the scope and merits of the project.

Eligibility criteria: businesses, companies and associations in the Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition (MICE) sectors may apply. Events will be considered based on factors including content, brand and delegate profile (international visitors).

In Singapore Incentives & Rewards (INSPIRE) Global 2.0

The In Singapore Incentives & Rewards (INSPIRE) Global 2.0 programme offers close to 80 options for dining, attractions, themed tours, team building and retail experiences to complement the itineraries of MICE groups.
