The Tomorrow's Talent programme submission deadline has been extended to Friday 28 February, due to several requests for more time to submit nominations.
The programme, an initiative by The Meetings Show in partnership with Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine, strives to highlight and support the industry’s future leaders by providing opportunities for their careers to grow.
Unlike last year’s programme which was only open to under 30s, this year, event planners and buyers of any age can enter, permitting they have no more than three year’s professional experience.
Eligible planners can nominate themselves or be nominated by an industry colleague via the online registration form or video submission.
The application requires a few paragraphs (500 words max) or a video entry describing the nominee, their achievements and why they should be nominated and a 100-word profile to be used if the nominee is successful. Applicants will also need to be available to attend The Meetings Show on 24-25 June 2020.
With 10 places up for grabs, each submission will be considered by a panel of industry professionals, including Ross Barker, commercial director, The Meetings Show, Paul Harvey, deputy editor, M&IT Magazine, Fiona Macdonald, senior manager business events, VisitBritain, Leigh Cowlishaw, managing partner, Black Box Partnerships, Patrick Delaney, managing partner, SoolNua and Ryan Curtis-Johnson, head of PR & marketing, DRPG.
The successful applicants will be supported via a series of opportunities throughout 2020, including personal profiling through M&IT and The Meetings Show, networking, peer-to-peer learning and VIP attendance to The Meetings Show. In addition, one participant will get the opportunity to gain a seat on The Meetings Show’s advisory board for 2020/21.
Ross Barker, commercial director, The Meetings Show, said: "We’re thrilled to bring Tomorrow’s Talent back for a second year and it’s great to be able to open this fantastic, career-changing programme to more individuals in the industry.
"We’re keen to highlight and support emerging talent and we recognise that members of the industry can enter it at any point in their lives which is why we are widening the criteria to include anyone with less than three years’ experience working in the meetings and events industry."
