The Power of Events has expanded its UK Schools Engagement
Programme with the launch of the London Hub, its largest region so far.
The initiative will connect thousands of young people with
the world of events, providing insights, inspiration, and career pathways into
the industry. As of July 2025 it will have engaged more than 103,000 young
people since its launch last year across more than 400 school visits.
With ambassador registration now live on the Schools
Engagement Programme portal, industry
professionals in the capital are invited to sign up and support the next
generation of talent by volunteering as little as an hour to the initiative.
The first wave of school engagements will begin in September across London,
with the goal of reaching 50,000 plus young people in the first year.
Rick Stainton, CEO of The Power of Events, said: "The
launch of the London Hub marks a significant progression in one of our core
projects, to engage and inspire young people across the UK about the diverse
opportunities within the events industry. With the incredible support of our
ambassadors and sponsors, we look forward to making a lasting impact across the
capital."
Justine Simons OBE, deputy mayor of London for culture and
the creative industries, said: “Culture and creativity are in London’s DNA and
our thriving events are a cornerstone of life in the capital contributing
billions to our economy and attracting global audiences. The London Hub is a
wonderful way to help thousands of young people learn more about the
opportunities available to them in this exciting industry. It’s important that
we all play our part to nurture the next generation of leaders and creators as
we continue to build a better and fairer London for everyone.”
The Power of Events plans to invite event industry
professionals in the region to an exclusive launch reception in early September
in London. This event will provide an opportunity to learn more about the
programme and how to get involved as a volunteer schools ambassador, as well as
network with the programme sponsors alongside the wider organisation’s
supporters and partners.
This programme expansion for 2025-6 is made possible with
the sponsorship from leading event industry organisations across London,
