Essex-based corporate travel and meetings management company Inntel has launched its Sustainable Travel Hub. The hub is an
open resource, available to both Inntel’s clients and other external companies, and aims to help other businesses make more informed and sustainable travel choices.
Through the Inntel Sustainable Travel Hub users can access
key information about the environmental sustainability policies and
accreditations for a wide variety of hotels, venues, airlines, airports, rail
operators and more. From Premier Inn to Radisson Hotel Group, British Airways
and Ryanair, to name just a few, the Hub makes it quick and easy to check and
compare each travel provider's ESG policies – then plan business trips and
meetings with lower carbon footprints based on that information.
Douglas O’Neill, CEO of Inntel, said: “I am pleased to add the Sustainable Travel Hub to our extensive range of solutions that support our clients with measuring, reporting, reducing and offsetting their emissions as a result of business travel and meetings. In addition to this, by making the Hub an open resource, we are supporting the industry we operate in to make a positive impact as well.”
Inntel’s Sustainable Travel Hub is available for free, so
all businesses can use the tool to reduce and offset the environmental impact
of their travel and events. However, Inntel’s clients receive superior usability, with all the information on the Hub being embedded into their online
booking tool.
This allows clients to compare and
select suppliers with strong ESG commitments at the point of booking. They can
easily choose hotels with green accreditations and see the CO2 impact of their
air, rail or car journey on Inntel’s proprietary booking platform all in one
place, prior to booking.
The Inntel Sustainable Travel Hub aims to be continuously updated as
suppliers accelerate their sustainability efforts, so that users can be
confident they have all the most up-to-date information at their fingertips.
The IT infrastructure for the Inntel Sustainable Travel Hub
is based on the company’s pre-existing COVID Hub. Inntel’s IT development team repurposed the framework of
COVID policies and populated the new Hub with their suppliers’ ESG policies.
After significantly reducing its carbon emissions and
offsetting the remaining output, Inntel became carbon neutral in August 2022.
The company is on track to achieving
its target of Net Zero emissions by 2030.
As part of Inntel’s commitment to prioritising environmental
sustainability in all areas of operations, the Inntel Sustainable Travel Hub is
designed to support clients in achieving their own sustainability
objectives.
