Building on its 2022 event legacy strategy, ACC Liverpool
hosted its third Legacy Workshop recently, bringing together
key stakeholders to explore how events can leave a lasting positive impact on
the city.
Organisers with upcoming events at ACC Liverpool, including
the International Association of Oral Oncology (IAOO), British Neuroscience
Association (BNA), ELRIG and British Orthopaedic Association (BOA),
participated in the workshop alongside a network of local Legacy Champions
– a group of experts from various sectors across Liverpool.
The workshop brought together event organisers and local
experts, kicking off conversations around potential legacy projects aligned
with specific event themes and objectives.
The session featured a panel discussion examining the
Alzheimer's Research UK conference held at ACC Liverpool earlier in 2024. The
panel, made up of Emma Robson (Alzheimer’s Research UK), James Latham (The
Iceberg), Adrian Evans (ACC Liverpool), and Jennifer Jensen (Jenny Jensen Ltd),
explored the successful implementation of the event's legacy project,
highlighting valuable learnings and actionable strategies for future events.
“We were thrilled to participate in ACC Liverpool's event
legacy workshop," said Charlie Silva, head of events and fundraising
from British Orthopaedic Association. "The discussions around
Alzheimer's Research UK's case study provided valuable insights, and the
opportunity to connect with local champions from relevant sectors was
particularly helpful. We're excited to explore potential legacy initiatives for
our future events."
"ACC Liverpool is proud to be a leader in driving event
legacy," said Adrian Evans, director of conference and business events
at ACC Liverpool. "Our workshops provide a platform for collaboration
between event organisers, local stakeholders, and our team to ensure that
conferences not only benefit attendees but also leave a lasting positive
footprint on the city. We're excited to see what future collaborations will
bring."
ACC Liverpool launched their event legacy strategy in 2022
and has already facilitated impactful legacy projects with organisations like
Diabetes UK and now Alzheimer's Research UK. The venue has a comprehensive
Legacy Toolkit containing case studies, resources and details on their Legacy
Champions.
