CHS Group has committed to ‘going live’ with its first CHS Birmingham event as it bids to kickstart the industry in the autumn.
Set to take place on 27 October this year at ICC Birmingham, the event aims to bring together event professionals, both buyers and suppliers, in the Birmingham and Midlands area.
The event was announced late last year, and with the cancellation of so many other major industry events, the CHS Group is determined to go ahead with a physical event for CHS Birmingham.
Emma Cartmell, CEO of the CHS Group said: “It has been a really horrible period for the industry, and we’ve seen so many opportunities to do business lost over the last few months.
“We want to be of service to our visitors and exhibitors, and to create a business environment that is most beneficial to them. To do so, we felt the need to commit to live.”
Despite the government still not releasing a date of when the business events sector can officially reopen, the CHS Birmingham organisers said it was not in their nature ‘ to sit around and wait’ for guidance.
The group hopes that CHS Birmingham can be a part of a kick-start for the industry.
If the live event goes ahead, the CHS Group would become one of only a limited number of live exhibitions to take place between when the lockdown began and the end of 2020.
“Restrictions will loosen as we enter the autumn, and we’re working with the venue on health and hygiene procedures that reduce risk.
“But we’re also looking at ways to make the event #uniquely CHS, business focused, productive, entertaining and fun. We feel we have the support to deliver this,” Cartmell added.
