At the request of the Department for Digital Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), the Tourism Alliance and the Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP) has launched a survey to understand the impact of Omicron on business events and travel.
The onset of the Omicron variant and the subsequent Plan B measures that have been introduced to curb the rise of infections are understood to have already impacted consumer confidence, visitor numbers and bookings for business events and business travel.
The Plan B measures, which were implemented on 14 December, state that wearing a face mask is compulsory in most public indoor venues and the NHS Covid Pass is mandatory for entry to large events.
Therefore, the survey is part of a plan for the DCMS to build data in order to better understand and demonstrate the issues that businesses are facing across the sector, and variations between sub-sectors, and overall resilience and commercial outlook.
The BVEP is asking all stakeholders to respond to the survey no later than 10 January 2022.
The results are expected to form part of a robust evidence base which can then be used to design and make the case for policy solutions and interventions across Government to mitigate the financial pressures being experienced.
You can find the survey here.
