Stress Matters, an events industry Mental Health First Aider facilitator, has partnered with the University of Hertfordshire to carry out a wide-ranging survey on event professionals' wellbeing.
The survey is available here and takes less than five minutes to complete.
The research aims to reach 500 respondents from across the industry. Stress Matters and the University of Hertfordshire are also conducting multiple interviews with a number of professionals within the industry to note changes in attitudes and approaches to wellbeing.
The working group includes Allan Jepson, the chair of the Association for Events Management Education (AEME) and senior lecturer and researcher at the University of Hertfordshire, Raphaela Stadler, senior lecturer in event management, tourism and hospitality also at the University of Hertfordshire and Trudie Walters, president of the Australia and New Zealand Association for Leisure Studies and Research Fellow in the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand.

They have made a significant contribution to the industry’s understanding of wellbeing and mental health and we are excited about delving into the data and gaining a really good understanding of the future of the events industry,” members of the working group said.

The results of the research will be shared with the industry to support everyone in improving workplace wellbeing in this particularly challenging period for our sector. The results will continue to inform the Stress Matters pledge scheme which supports businesses that want to assess and improve the wellbeing of their team’s whilst being accredited based on their progress.
