ICCA UK & Ireland Chapter launches Support Others campaign ICCA UK & Ireland Chapter launches Support Others campaign

The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) UK and Ireland chapter is looking to harness the power of positivity with its new Supporting Others campaign.

The campaign will centre around positive ideas and goodwill, and the chapter is calling on meeting and event industry professionals to get the project off the ground.

“We appreciate that 2021 has not perhaps started the way we were all hoping it would,” said ICCA UK & Ireland Chapter chair Diane Waldron and deputy chair Suzanne Singleton.

“However, the vaccination does at least offer long term light at the end of the tunnel – a return to events as they used to be is, of course, a long way off – but in the meantime, we have an opportunity and responsibility to support each other in every way we can.

“This is a call to action to learn and understand, what you are doing, what you need and how we can all work together to help each other.”

Waldron and Singleton are seeking thoughts from the following two key areas:

  • Tell us your positive stories. Both personal and commercial.  What are you doing to get through, what is working for you, where are your successes and gains, what are your goals and plans for the future?
  • What are you challenges that you think your fellow ICCA members could support you through? What do you need both personally and commercially? How can we support each other more?
You can have your say and play a part in driving the campaign by emailing Julie Watterson at [email protected].

The UK & Ireland ICCA chapter currently represents 71 members spread across England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. These cover all aspects of conference management from venues and convention bureaus to hotels, PCO's.
