The Institute of Event Management has extended the deadline to take part in its Event Workforce survey to the end of the month.
The Event Workforce survey has been designed to get a clearer picture of the size and scope of the events sector in the UK together with a better understanding of the current roles and responsibilities.
Susan Spibey, executive board chair of the Institute of Event Management, said: "As the landscape continually evolves, so too does the requirement for new and/or updated skills within the workforce and therefore and additional aim of the survey is to understand these skills and how they are developing and changing.
"We need you to help us gauge the current size and scope of the events sector and what activities it is currently engaged in so that we can enable the recognition of events as a sector with a strong voice within the UK. As an individual or organisation, we would like to know more about you, your role and your levels of responsibility, workload and qualifications. Knowing this means we are better placed to support you and your career. The Institute of Event Management and wider events sector need to better understand the scope and scale of the profession to help further its narrative and understand what the profession stands for in terms of future development."
Anyone wishing to take part should follow the link below to complete the survey by 31 August 2021:

The survey has been designed by the Institute of Event Management in collaboration with the Association for Events Management Education, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Glasgow Caledonian University, the University of the West of England, the University of Suffolk and Liverpool John Moores University.
The Institute of Event Management provides the opportunity for individuals who already work, or wish to work in the events sector to gain professional recognition, enhance their profile, skills and knowledge, and make global connections.
Spibey added: "Building on the work already completed around the SIC and SOC codes, the outputs from this survey will aid development of the professional standards at the kick off meeting on 19 August at ACC Liverpool. In addition the outputs will further enhance the recognition of events as a professional sector with a strong voice in the UK Economy as a whole.
"The Institute of Event Management Stakeholder Group and wider events sector need to better understand the scope and scale of the profession to help further its narrative and understand what the profession stands for in terms of its future development."
