UK representation companies have launched a new coalition as they vow to "think differently" and work collaboratively in the Covid-19 recovery
Reps United will host its first get-together on 22 June at the Jumeirah Hotel in London. The Covid-secure event will bring together industry professionals that represent the UK as a meetings and events destination, alongside representatives from UK-based hotels and venues.
The group was formed following a discussion between a collection of UK-owned DMC, hotel and venue representation companies on how they will proactively work together to make it easier for the industry in the post-lockdown era.
The objective of Reps United is to collaborate for information sharing as a collective rather than as individual companies.
Mags Shaw, director of Mags Worldwide, said: “In the past, we would have all visited these clients individually, but Covid-19 has led us to think differently. We believe that we are ‘stronger together’ and that we are better served to engage with our clients by hosting this Covid secure event for information exchange. We very much look forward to supporting companies and agencies with their upcoming meetings and incentive travel events.”
Prior to the creation of Reps United, representatives worked separately and there was a lack of cohesion and collaboration from DMC, hotel and venue representatives. Now, however, these independently owned representation companies can push for a stronger industry going forward.
“I am right behind this collaborative event and excited, not just to see our much-missed clients, but also to support such a dynamic array of independently owned representation companies, many of whom we have known for years and consider friends. It’s been a tough year and we all want to see each other move forward and succeed” added Maxine MacPherson of AbleMaxx Ltd.
