M&IT took home the New Media award at the Business Travel Journalism
Awards (BTJAs) at a glamorous ceremony in London.
M&IT editor Paul Harvey collected the BTJA for New Media during a dinner ceremony at The Crypt
under St Paul’s Cathedral in London on Monday (14 November).
The
New Media award recognises those that have embraced new mediums of
communication and provided the best and most creative initiatives to convey
business travel-related news, insights and perspectives. The award was for M&IT's video news clip
about the opening of London’s Elizabeth Line and what it means for delegates accessing
ExCeL London – the home of The Meetings Show.
"I'm very happy to have won the New Media award at the BTJAs, it's a prestigious awards scheme that has been running for almost 20 years and it means a lot to have our work at M&IT recognised by our peers," said Harvey.
"I couldn't have won the award without the support of the wider M&IT team; it's always a collaborative effort. It was a great event in a wonderful venue and it was fantastic to see M&IT shortlisted alongside so many talented journalists and great titles."
Before
the opening of the Elizabeth Line, travellers journeying from central London to Custom House, where the ExCeL Centre is located, had to endure a convoluted
journey with multiple train changes.
The
advent of the Elizabeth Line now means delegates can reach the ExCeL Centre in
around 20 minutes, shaving a good 15 minutes off travel time.
