A new website has been launched to make it easier for people to
find event industry apprenticeship opportunities.
In line with National Apprentice Week (6-12 February), events industry apprenticeship organisation Realise has launched its new website to make it easier for new talent to find industry opportunities.
The website is designed to provide a central focus for
employers and employees who want to find out more about event apprenticeships. The website will also showcase success stories of the individuals and companies that have
participated in apprenticeship programmes.
Realise CEO, David Preston, said: “As the industry is coming
together to launch the initiative for a wider range of event apprenticeships,
we thought this was the perfect time to celebrate the journey to date.
“We’ve delivered more than 70 apprentices since the
programme started, and it’s incredible to see how far many of them have
progressed. We even have some running their own companies.”
Realise was involved in the initial apprenticeship
‘trailerblazer’ group, which set a certain standard that apprentices were
encouraged to achieve.
To date, 100 per cent of the apprentices who reached the
first year ‘gateway’ stage have gone on to successfully complete the programme,
with 78 per cent achieving the top grades of ‘Merit’ or ‘Distinction.’
“It’s hugely satisfying see so many of these apprentices now
achieving senior positions within the world of events. It’s also rewarding to
see how many companies come back for more,” added Richard John, COO of Realise.
“The benefits of taking on apprentices, in terms of
productivity and career longevity are overwhelming, especially when the
industry is constantly bemoaning the shortage of talent. And for most
companies, it’s the government that’s paying for the training.”
