Stuart Andrew has been appointed as the new tourism minister.

In his new role, the MP for Pudsey will be responsible for the business events industry, including conferences, meetings, exhibitions and trade shows.

Andrew is the third tourism minister in six weeks, replacing Lord Kamal, who held the position for just 40 days as part of Liz Truss’s government.

The UK’s national tourism authority, VisitBritain, welcomed Andrew to the role, saying: “We are delighted to welcome The Rt Hon Stuart Andrew MP as the new Minister for Sport, Tourism, and Civil Society, and Minister for Equalities, appointed by The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).”

Mid Worcestershire MP Nigel Huddleston held the position of tourism minister for the bulk of the Covid-19 pandemic and opened The Meetings Show in 2021.
