As costs rise and meetings grow in importance, organisers are focused on delivering ROI from their meetings and events going into 2025.

Planners are seeking ways to make cost savings that do not have a negative impact on the attendee experience. Other notable highlights include:

  • Supplier relations are improving with fewer planners reporting difficulties.
  • More than a third of planners are adding staff to their events team in 2025.
  • 56% of planners are using AI – but most are ambivalent about results.
  • A quarter of planners are less optimistic than they were six months ago.
  • The rise of online communities is a growing concern for event planners.

This research cycle is comprised of 119 responses from planners of all types and is compared to similar data we have collected from North America.

About the survey:

The Northstar/Cvent Meetings Industry PULSE Survey was first launched in the US in 2020 to track changes in planner sentiment and expectations throughout the pandemic. There are now two more editions covering EMEA and ASIA.

Northstar continues to survey event planners on a regular basis to assess how current challenges and trends are shaping the industry. The PULSE Survey is produced in partnership with meetings-technology provider Cvent.
