Specialist event agency Lemon Lane has launched its first
ESG charter to help it stay focused and accountable for its work in this area.
The charter, titled The People and Planet Plan, outlines Lemon
Lane’s commitments to ESG and lists a timeline of goals and key focus areas
between now and 2030.
While the agency, which celebrates its fifth anniversary in
business this year, has made headway in sustainability recently, it felt a need to encompass the social and governance aspects
of ESG.
Commitments included in the charter include the implementation
of a clear pathway to reach net zero by 2050; establishing a strong DEIBA
framework to become leaders in workplace wellness and delivering an Ethical
Procurement Framework and Supplier Code of Conduct.
Goals outlined include:
- Continuous measurement of all event-related emissions in
2025; a fully embedded operational emissions pathway by 2027, and 50% reduction
in carbon intensity per employee by 2030.
- Ensuring 90% of event assets are hired, reused, repurposed,
or recycled by 2027; achieving zero waste to landfill status by 2030.
- Publication of the agency’s first annual Operational Impact
Report in 2025, and the first joint Operational and Event Impact Report by
2027.
Lemon Lane director and co-founder, Jade Howgrave-Graham,
said: “We have created this People and Planet Plan to set out our ESG roadmap
for the future. This strategy is intended to help us stay focused and
accountable, showing how we put our ESG values into action across events,
operations and partnerships.
“It is also a tool to keep our team aligned and support
open, honest conversations with clients. It is by no means a finished plan but
with ESG performance central to our business decision-making, it’s a commitment
we are proud to be making and an encouraging reflection of the progress we are
making as an agency.”
The charter includes Lemon Lane’s Climate Impact Report for
2024, the baseline for the agency’s annual carbon accounting, which was
calculated with support from Earthly and TRACE by isla.
