Visit Detroit is now targeting the business travel community in UK and Ireland as a conference and meeting destination.

Cellet Marketing is now responsible for Visit Detroit's conference strategy in the UK and Ireland and will work closely with business travel managers, event planners and airline partners.

Andrea Cadotto, associate director of meetings and conventions at Visit Detroit said: “Detroit has so much to offer the business traveller; it’s a city that is constantly evolving. Cellet will target UK and Irish business travel suppliers through engagement, familiarisation and promotion. We will capitalise on the increasing frequency of direct flights from the UK and Ireland and work closely with travel management companies to promote the city and its wide range of experiences.”

Detroit has more than 5,000 hotel rooms downtown and its major convention centre, Huntington Place, is the 16th largest in the US. There are currently two daily direct flights from London to Detroit via Delta, and it is also well served by Icelandair.

Attractions in the city include The Motown Museum Hitsville USA, Detroit Institute of Arts, the Ford Rouge Factory Tour and the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.
