Beam is set to explore the future of venue finding and booking at its instant book summit this week.

The beam instant book summit, taking place on 7 July at DoubleTree by Hilton Oxford Belfry in partnership with venuedirectory.com, will bring together every type of organisation from right across the industry interested in the digitalisation of meetings and event bookings.

Senior professionals from agencies and travel management companies will come together with hote and venue groups, independent hotels and venues, many specialist venues and a wide range of specialist technology providers to shine a light on the issues and the way forward.

Non-members and associations and organisations from the meetings, events and business travel sectors are invited to make this a comprehensive and united review of the needs of corporate bookers and to how to fulfil them most efficiently and cost effectively in future.

After defining the current position of the topic, there will be a series of presentations and panel discussions featuring each of the different groups sharing their views. Among the topics will be ‘What corporates want,’ The evolving Instant Book Ecosystem,’ ‘Instant Book; the Technology Roadmap ahead’, ‘Corporate Rate Plans for Instant Book;’ ‘Payment, Parity and Commission’ and ‘What does Supply, Distribution & Book success look like?’

The experts contributing to the panel discussions or presenting will include directors and senior executives from Agiito, Inntel, Leonardo Hotels, Groups 360, GLH Hotels, Meeting Package, Interstate Hotels, venuedirectory.com and Village Hotels.

Juliet Price, consultant executive director of beam, said “At a time when the industry is looking for every opportunity to improve customer service, increase job satisfaction and overcome staff shortages, the rapid introduction of digitalisation is crucial.

“This is the first of three events over the coming months which beam is holding rather than a traditional annual forum and we’re very happy to be partnering with venuedirectory.com which has been driving this issue forward across the industry in the last year.

“Michael Begley and his team are helping us to create a superb agenda that features stakeholders and speakers who represent the different aspects - suppliers, agents and users- of the digital meetings landscape. The event will enable attendees to leave with a much clearer understanding of the many benefits of instant book and what they need to do to make the most of them.

“As always at beam events there will be plenty of opportunity to meet industry colleagues over lunch and afterwards. The summit will be followed by an optional barbecue from 1715 to 1930, offering a further opportunity to socialise and relax.”

Michael Begley, senior director, sales and operations at venuedirectory.com, said: “With many major hotel groups and venues already engaged and reaping the wide-ranging benefits that it offers, Instant Book is quickly gathering momentum and will soon become vital to businesses, especially when some agencies start to make it a requirement for preferred suppliers. It‘s great to be working with our long standing partner beam to drive this important topic forward.”
