Australian Event Awards Symposium

The Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) was named the Australian Event of the Year (2022) at the annual Australian Event Awards & Symposium.

AIME was also named the National Winner: Best Congress, Conference or Exhibition (2022) aboard The Jackson on Sydney Harbour, where the awards took place in November.

AIME event director, Silke Calder, said: “The team is delighted to receive this prestigious recognition from the Australian Event Awards & Symposium. Thank you also to our partners and event owner, Melbourne Convention Bureau, for all their support. We are particularly proud of the culture of learning and connection we champion at AIME.”

The next AIME event will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) between 13-15 February 2023. Next year’s event will also make the show’s 30th anniversary.

Melbourne Convention Bureau CEO, Julia Swanson noted that the two awards are well-timed ahead of the anniversary celebration. “For many years, AIME has been the flagship trade show of the industry across the APAC region. It is an absolute must-attend event for anyone in business events and brings a plethora of economic benefits to our state.

The Symposium judges said: “While the strategic intent of AIME is to drive business, it also provided the event industry with hope, a sense of community and collaboration mixed with a strong dose of fun. Congratulations to all involved.”
