Events industry fundraisers, ‘Events R Talented’ have announced they will raise money for Rare Dementia Support (RDS), a UK cause
funded by the National Brain Appeal.
There are seven rare dementias which can affect people under the
age of 65, including progressive patient aphasia (PPA) and fronto temporal dementia (FTD).
Currently, there is no medical treatment available for
either of these illnesses. The money raised by Events R Talented will help
support care plans for patients, their carers, and families, as well as help to
raise awareness within the medical community as 30 per cent of all FTD dementia
cases are initially misdiagnosed.

as does the brother of Events R Talented co-founder, Ken Findlay.
Findlay said: “I heard that my brother was formally
diagnosed with Semantic FTD the day after the M&IT Awards Dinner 2023.
Looking into everything, I then proposed having RDS as our 2024 charity.
"I was given the opportunity to launch this year's fundraising at the inaugural ‘Famtastic Awards’ Dinner,
run by Paula Kelsey at Cloud 9 Management. We raised £315 on the evening, which was a
nice start to our fundraising, and I am grateful to everyone who donated.
“We’re now already looking at different additional ways of
raising funds at events throughout the year.”
