The sector turned out in force to raise vital funds for the Rare Dementia Support charity as Events R Talented hosted its 2024 auditions.
More than 200 people bought tickets to the event on Wednesday 19 June at The Leonardo Royal City in London, which
included a three-course dinner and access to the final round of auditions.
Soria Lai Leung, unique
venue search consultant at BCD Meetings and Events, was crowned the champion and has won the opportunity to perform at the M&IT Awards 2024 to a crowd of
more than 1,000 people.
Events R Talented co-founder, Ken Findlay said, “What a fantastic event. We
discovered some fantastic performance talent from all of the events industry
contestants. Special
congratulations to Soria Lai Leung our very well deserved and independently
just winner.
“Importantly,
we raised nearly £16,000 for Rare Dementia Support, (funded by The National Brain Appeal) with the fantastic
contributions from the 230 event professionals in the room.
“That
money will make a massive impact to the research into treatments, research into
curing these terrible rare dementias and developing medical knowledge and even
better care plans for those suffering from the diseases and importantly their
carers.
“A
big thank you to all those in the events industry who supported us last night,
you certainly showcased the industry at its best".
