Fast Forward 15, the mentoring programme for women in the events and hospitality industry, has announced Newlife: the Charity for Disabled Children as the charity partner for its annual event Beyond Labels.

The event, organised by this year's mentee cohort, will be raising funds for Newlife through event ticket sales, sponsorship, a clothing sale and auction.

As the UK’s largest charity provider of specialist disability equipment, Newlife offers a lifeline for families, providing life-changing and life-saving specialist equipment when and where it’s needed, as well as support and information through its free Nurse Helpline.

Fiona Robinson, Newlife’s CEO, said: “There are now 1.7 million disabled and terminally ill children in the UK. Alongside dealing with their disability, the sad fact is that many children don’t have the specialist equipment they really need to help them. As a result, they are missing out on life’s opportunities.

“We are delighted to be working with Fast Forward 15 to shine a spotlight on the needs of disabled and terminally ill children and their families. Together, we’re striving for a better future for the families we serve. We encourage as many people as possible to come along.”

2024 also marks 10 years of Fast Forward 15.

Fay Sharpe, Fast Forward 15 founder, said: “We are delighted to support Newlife Charity for Children, the work they do changing the lives of disabled and terminally ill children across the UK changes lives. We also love the fact that much of the charity’s fundraising is through high street and designer clothing that potentially would have gone to landfill. So it’s doubly fantastic!

“I am so proud of this year’s cohort of mentee’s who are creating this 10th anniversary event “Beyond Labels”, bringing this cause to the attention of our industry they have put together an exciting concept and as it’s held alongside International Confex 2024, it’s accessible for all in our industry and will be a great way to support Newlife and Fast Forward 15.”

Further event details will be released soon.
