Independent business travel, meetings and events company Inntel has become a Certified B Corporation - making it one of the first travel management companies in the UK to receive the certification.

Certified B Corporations, or B Corps, are companies verified by B Lab to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, legal accountability and transparency. B Corps are businesses that prioritise people and the planet alongside profit. The B stands for ‘benefit for all’.

To certify, an organisation must demonstrate high social and environmental performance by passing the rigorous B Impact Assessment (BIA). This assessment measures a business’s impact in five key areas: governance, workers, customers, community and the environment.

Inntel scored 94.3 on its BIA, well above the 80 point pass mark, scoring particularly highly in the area of governance, ethics and transparency.

Inntel CEO Douglas O’Neill said: “Receiving B Corp certification is a huge honour for all of us here at Inntel. This important milestone reflects the hard work of our teams and our dedication to social responsibility and sustainability. We take pride in minimising our environmental impact while providing exceptional service and innovative solutions to help our clients achieve their own sustainability goals. We are delighted to join this global community of the world’s most responsibly run businesses.”

Inntel joins a network of more than 8,000 businesses worldwide that have received B Corp certification, including Exclusive Collection, The Wellbeing Farm and Greengage Solutions.

Anna Snoep, Inntel’s director of operations and ESG, said: “Becoming a B Corp demonstrates our commitment to using our organisation as a force for good and creating positive impact for our people, clients, suppliers and within our industry. B Corp certification underlines our dedication to not just business success but to the wellbeing of our people, planet and community. Our work does not stop here, we look forward to continuing to contribute to a more sustainable future.”

B Corp businesses are required to amend their corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders and to publicly share their impact through their B Corp profile. This achievement is a key milestone for Inntel, underscoring its ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.
