Cat Kevern, managing director of Electric Cat and NOWIE, has joined industry charity foundation Meeting Needs as a marketing and PR consultant.
Kevern will support the charity foundation's board with marketing, PR and communications to help raise awareness of its work, strengthen engagement across the meetings and events industry and support future fundraising initiatives.
Writing on LinkedIn, Kevern said: "I'm SUPER excited to announce I'm joining Meeting Needs as a Marketing & PR Consultant "
She added: "I've known about Meeting Needs for years through the events industry, but after spending more time with the team recently, I've realised they do so much for our industry, and around the world! And this deserves to be shouted about."
Meeting Needs has supported charities for more than 20 years, funding projects in the UK and internationally through fundraising by the meetings and events industry.
Kevern said her first project would be supporting Meeting Needs events lead Kate Conway's efforts to encourage more participants and fundraising for the Royal Parks Half Marathon.
Kevern said: "I'll be supporting the board on a pro bono basis, helping with marketing, PR and communications to raise awareness, strengthen engagement with the industry and support future fundraising initiatives.
"For me, it's another opportunity to give back to an industry that has given me so much throughout my career."
She added: "I'm looking forward to working with the fantastic team and helping shine a bigger spotlight on the impact Meeting Needs has across our industry. I look forward to getting stuck in with such a fantastic team."
Meeting Needs is encouraging members of the events industry to take part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October.
