The second annual Meeting Needs Golf Day raised £5,600 for the events industry charity foundation, as agencies and suppliers came together for a day of fundraising and friendly competition at The Belfry Hotel & Resort.

Organised by Dan Bardgett, managing director of XSEM, and Matt Curran of Chew Events, the event welcomed 30 players to the Brabazon course for a Ryder Cup-style contest between agency and supplier teams. Suppliers retained the trophy for a second consecutive year.

Funds raised will support Meeting Needs, which finances life-changing projects for people in need across the UK and internationally.

Writing on Linkedin, Matt Curran said: “Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we’re delighted to have raised an amazing £5,600 for Meeting Needs.

“It was fantastic to spend the day with so many colleagues and friends from across the events industry, battling it out between agencies and suppliers. The suppliers kept hold of the trophy this year, but we’ll be back bigger and better next year to try and win it back.

“A huge thank you goes to The Belfry Hotel & Resort and its team for helping us deliver such a fantastic event.”

Dan Bardgett added: “On behalf of everyone at Meeting Needs, XSEM and Chew Events, I’d like to thank everyone who joined us for this year’s Meeting Needs Cup.

“What a day. The Brabazon course was in fantastic condition, the sun shone, and it was brilliant to see so many friends and colleagues from across the industry coming together for some friendly competition and, most importantly, to support an incredible cause.

“Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we’re delighted to have raised an amazing £5,600 for Meeting Needs.”

The organisers have confirmed the charity golf day will return in 2027 and are inviting agencies and suppliers interested in taking part to register their interest.
