Deadline extended for 2022 miaList entries

The Meetings Industry Association (mia) has extended the entry deadline for this year's miaList.

Professionals working within the business meetings and events sector now have until 29 June to nominate either an inspirational individual or team that goes above and beyond the call of duty and has played an instrumental role in making the organisation a success.

Anyone who is working within or is associated with the UK’s business meetings and events sector is eligible to be featured on the list, which is free to enter. However, individuals must be nominated by either a colleague or an associate.

New for this year, the list that commenced in 2011 also features dedicated Sustainability and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion titles, as well as a Best Innovation accolade. It will also see a Venue of the Year and Supplier of the Year crowned.

Other titles, which will continue to be recognised at a ceremony at Hilton Birmingham Metropole on 17 November 2022, include dedicated Team of the Year awards for those in Events & Operations, Sales & Marketing, as well as those representing Destinations.

Kerrin MacPhie, chief executive of the mia, said: “As we approach our original deadline and continue to receive entries, we’re acutely aware of the intensity the sector is working at as it continues its recovery, and hearing from our members we felt it was necessary to provide a short grace period for those still planning to recognise their inspiring teams and individuals.”

Full details and application forms can be found here. Completed forms and portfolios of evidence must be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday 29 June.
