Beam and the MIA (Meetings Industry
Association) have announced the ESG Summit 2025, an unprecedented collaborative
event between the two leading industry associations, on Monday 15 September at
Warwick Conferences.
The event marks a significant step forward in
supporting the business meetings and events sector with a unified approach to
environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. Both associations
traditionally run their own ESG-focused events, and with overlapping themes and
shared goals, this joint approach aims to provide a more impactful and streamlined
experience for members. It’s a considered collaboration that reflects the
specific alignment of ESG priorities - rather than a broader shift in event
strategy - and is designed to maximise value without duplication.
With content curated in partnership with
isla, Greengage, event:decision, Circular Life, and Scopes Carbon, the ESG
Summit aims to offer a fresh, practical and solutions-led programme. Attendees will
benefit from powerful keynotes, interactive breakout sessions, and expert-led
panel discussions focusing on embedding ESG as a core business strategy.

Reflecting on the decision to collaborate,
beam’s chair, Louisa Watson, said: “This summit represents what the events
industry does best, coming together to drive meaningful change. By combining
our efforts with the MIA and engaging respected partners across the ESG
landscape, we’re able to offer even greater value to our members and empower
them with the tools and insights needed to make real progress.”
Shonali Devereaux, chief executive of the MIA,
added: "The MIA has long been committed to inspiring sustainable,
responsible practices. Collaborating with beam provides a powerful, unified
platform to build on this commitment. This summit is about amplifying impact by
joining forces to cut through the noise and together, we are confident that we
can turn shared ambitions into tangible outcomes for both our members and the
wider industry."
The day also includes the unveiling of the
latest Temperature Check Report with Anna Abdelnoor from isla, and engaging
sessions around wellbeing, inclusivity, and social impact, with a spotlight on Children’s
charity, The Rainbow Trust.
