DRPG and Maritz Global Events have teamed up to deliver immersive and educational sessions at IMEX Frankfurt 2023.

During the sessions, a team of experts from creative communications group DRPG and experience design company Maritz Global Events, will help planners look at their event planning and delivery through a fresh lens, creatively re-thinking audience needs, plus showcase digital advancements that are set to shake up what delegate data means for the experiences of tomorrow.

The theatre will host a range of sessions with a focus on the new language of events. The overarching topic stems from the resurgence in live events and the innovations that have begun to take shape within industry pillars including technology and sustainability.

Amy Kramer, market and product innovation leader for Maritz Global Events, will kick off the programme with a deep dive into the delegate journey. Leveraging smart design and experience tools, she'll map out the future potential of their event experience, applying customer journey principles to create ‘truly unforgettable events’. "Event experiences are more than just our time together. Designing for the Journey, not just the destination is key to unlocking guest transformation," said Kramer.

Russell Soden, of Russell Soden Consulting, will be hone in on the importance of communication through expedited periods of change. “Leadership is not just about being gregarious or confident - everyone has a leadership voice - and this session is designed to help every individual discover their voice, feel empowered and learn how to use it effectively, as well as being able to understand the voice of others better,” said Soden.

“This method is also essential for event planners, for all too often we look at our audience as a whole, when the highest engagement rates would always come from those who feel content is designed for them as an individual. By tailoring messaging to fit certain demographics or ‘voices’, we can expect much higher responses to messaging and an increased return on engagement.”

In a hands-on session attendees can learn how non-fungible tokens (NFTs) work and how they can be used to enhance event experiences.

The ‘Technology… What You Need to Know to be in the Know’ session will explore technology in today’s climate, what impresses and how it is being deployed to revolutionise the world of events and communications. Nick Fagan, lead creative technologist at DRPG, said, “We’ll be showcasing facial analysis technology and how this ethical data collection has game-changing outcomes for return on engagement.”

Alongside the technical and communication advancements, Anita Howard, director of ICE (In-house Corporate Events), will host a panel to aid event professionals’ boredom, confusion, or eco-anxieties about making their events more sustainable.

The More Than Experience Theatre offers CMP credits for delegates that attend the following sessions as approved by the Events Industry Council (EIC).
