The IMEX in Frankfurt trade show will continue to be held at the German convention venue until at least 2025.
The partnership between the tradeshow group and the venue began in 2003 when IMEX hosted its first IMEX in Frankfurt event there. By 2005, the show had grown enough to move into Messe Frankfurt’s largest hall.
IMEX Group director of operations Mark Mulligan, said: "Messe Frankfurt has been a very supportive and flexible partner along the way, working with us to regularly evolve the show to meet the needs of our global industry. This year’s IMEX in Frankfurt is set to be very special – we’re returning to Frankfurt for the first time in two years and also celebrating 20 years of the show."
Michael Biwer, vice president of guest events at Messe Frankfurt, added: "IMEX has a very special significance as an important long-standing guest organizer and at the same time as a strategic MICE industry partner."
This year's IMEX in Frankfurt show is taking place between 31 May and 2 June 2022 and is expected to be a similar size and scale to the 10th edition of IMEX America which took place in Las Vegas in November 2021.
“We’re experiencing strong demand from both buyers and exhibitors, all of whom are motivated and excited to get back to doing business face to face," IMEX Group CEO Carina Bauer said. "The steady pace of registration a full two months before we open reflects the industry’s quickening recovery."
Bauer added that a range of international exhibitors – destinations, venues, technology partners, incentive companies and more – are planning to participate in the show, with many taking the opportunity to launch new strategies, campaigns, and products. Among the expected announcements are the launch of new convention centres in the Middle East and the UK, as well as details on the sustainability strategies of destinations.
