UKEVENTS has welcomed the publication of the government’s
refreshed industrial strategy and accompanying sector plans, which place the
creative industries at the heart of national growth ambitions.
Recognising the
creative industries as one of eight priority sectors, the government’s plans
set out a commitment to driving innovation, exports, and skills
development across the UK’s dynamic creative economy.
In particular, UKEVENTS welcomes the
focus on:

Leveraging
events to boost exports – The Professional and Business
Services Sector Plan recognises the impact of overseas missions and events in
supporting SMEs to enter new markets.

Creating
growth and innovation – The Creative Industries Sector Plan
highlights the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing, both of which
are facilitated by a vibrant calendar of business events.

Supporting
skills and talent development – Events provide platforms for
professional development and inspire the next generation to pursue careers in
creative sectors.
