Building confidence and getting people meeting again is the top of the agenda for the inaugural CHS Birmingham show.

Taking place at ICC Birmingham on 26 October 2021, the first show of its kind for the CHS Group will aim to ‘inject confidence’ into the meetings and events industry following the pandemic.

The first CHS Birmingham show was scheduled to take place last year but has to be postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

With the theme of confidence at the forefront of the event, organisers of CHS Birmingham hope to show that large shows can be just as safe as the smaller event which are already taking place across England.

“It’s great to see the industry experiencing such a return to form, but there is so much more to do to get us all back to pre-pandemic levels,” CHS Group managing director Emma Cartmell said.

“We’re looking at ‘project confidence’ as a way in which we can not only facilitate business amongst our buyer and seller communities but also speed up the return to normality.”

“We’re looking to give confidence to businesses to hold larger events; organisers to petition stakeholders to get them organised, and delegates to feel secure and safe in attending them. If we can do that, we can play a larger role in injecting speed into our recovery and a bouncier bounce back for everyone,” Cartmell added.

Birmingham will also play host to the Commonwealth Games in 2022.

“Birmingham is such a fitting place for this industry reunion. It’s a wonderful city, but one that has been in the events industry longer than most,” Cartmell added.

“It also represents the wider Midlands area which is home to some of our most recognised global event brands; we call it the UK’s events belt. Now we get to enjoy Birmingham, the Commonwealth Games and everything this city will offer the events industry over the next 10 years. We can’t wait to be there.”
