The Business of Events (TBOE) has announced a partnership with International Convention Centre (ICC) Wales.
Ian Edwards, CEO, ICC Wales said: “With its direct connections to Government and the public sector, The Business of Events provides an excellent platform for leaders to convene and discuss critical issues, solutions, and best practices.
“The events and intelligence generated by The Business of Events is excellent for sharing with our clients and for shaping our future approach and ideas for the business. I look forward to continuing our partnership with The Business of Events in 2023 and attending its programme of events.”
Martin Fullard, director of news and content at The Business of Events, said: “ICC Wales is a key venue in the UK, located at the gateway to Wales. “ICC Wales is at the coalface of business and event sentiment in the Western Gateway region and that experience makes them a valuable partner to support our work in developing policy initiatives for wider events sector. We are grateful for their support.”
ICC Wales opened in September 2019 and has established itself as a major player on the UK event scene, having hosted several high-profile events including International Golf Travel Market, the Independent Schools Bursars’ Association annual conference and the 2023 BetVictor Welsh Open Snooker.
Engagement activities in 2023
The Business of Events will host it first roundtable event once its sector-wide consultation has closed on 30th April, which will lead to the publication of TBOE’s first report of 2023. This will be reviewed by the Advisory Council and the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events and will be shared publicly.
The flagship Policy Forum will take place in the Autumn, where it will bring together destinations and venues from across the UK to connect with senior event and exhibition organisers, trade, and membership bodies.
They will join representatives from government departments and public sector organisations to discuss policy initiatives and what a comprehensive policy agenda for the sector should include.
