The Government is strongly urging eventprofs to take part in its industrial strategy consultation, to make sure the sector's voice is heard.
The industrial strategy is the UK government’s proposed 10-year plan for the economy. It aims to deliver certainty and stability for businesses to invest in high-growth sectors, and drive long-term economic growth.
Taking part in the survey will ensure that the sector’s diversity and importance are fully represented in the consultation responses. The survey asks for views on the Government's approach, including evidence, analysis, and policy ideas.
A government spokesperson said: "We strongly encourage stakeholders from the visitor economy - including the events, tourism, and hospitality sectors, as well as LVEPs and their associated
businesses - to provide input into this consultation.
"The strategy could have wide-ranging impacts, particularly on skills and
workforce development. Currently, the visitor economy is not recognised as a priority sector within the industrial strategy. However, we understand its
immense significance as the UK’s third-largest export sector, supporting
millions of jobs and contributing significantly to regional and national
economies.
"It is crucial that stakeholders share their perspectives by participating in
the consultation."

The industrial strategy consultation takes around 30 minutes to complete and closes on Sunday 24 November. The final industrial strategy will be published in spring 2025, alongside the multi-year spending review.
