Live events and experiential experts TRO says it has 'supercharged' its sustainability strategy as it heads into a second year of partnership with sustainability consultancy The Bulb.

Since the partnership launched last year, The Bulb has helped craft and implement a tailored and robust sustainability strategy for the agency.

The strategy revolves around three core pillars: thrive, revive and deliver. Under these pillars, the agency has committed to continue to make wellbeing a priority (i.e. through regular temperature checks and a bespoke wellbeing programme); expand its carbon measurement into more projects; refine its supply chain and enhance its focus on impact – among other initiatives.

To further embed the strategy, TRO has introduced carbon literacy training around the business as well as expanding training on TRACE, isla’s sustainable event management platform.

Furthermore, a full carbon measurement reset has commenced for 2025, expanding the agency’s reporting to include Scope 3 emissions, in addition to the previously measured Scopes 1 and 2.

The agency has also appointed 10 sustainability champions. The collective will be responsible for leading this change and driving transformation across the agency’s departments, offices and regions.

Commenting on the news, Peter Trapnell, TRO sustainability champion and creative services director, said: "I often hear from businesses that they aren’t sure where to start in the sustainability sphere. My advice has always been to start with something achievable, something that allows you to measure your success – this initial step will give you the momentum to tackle bigger challenges.

“This is exactly what we’ve done in collaboration with The Bulb. The partnership has supercharged our sustainability journey and we are now well positioned to make significant impact in 2025.”

Selina Donald, founder of The Bulb, added:  "We're thrilled to continue our partnership with TRO for a second year. It’s so energising to work with Andy, Peter, and the team, who are passionate about genuinely embedding sustainability into everything they do.

"In the last 12-months, TRO have taken huge steps to improve their operations for People and Planet. They are a fantastic client to work with, and we look forward to continuing to support the team in achieving their ambitious objectives and in becoming a best practice leader within the events and experiential industry.
