The Sustainable Events Show is introducing a three-tier seminar programme designed to give event professionals sustainability advice and solutions suited to their level of knowledge.
The BASIC, BETTER, BEST format will see seminar topics repeated across morning and afternoon sessions, with morning content aimed at those new to sustainability, and afternoon sessions geared towards those with more advanced knowledge.
The approach is intended to address a common barrier to sustainability education: sessions that are either too basic or too advanced for the people attending them.
The sixth edition of the show takes place on Friday 6 November at the Chicago Booth London Conference Centre, bringing together venues, suppliers and event technology companies offering solutions for more sustainable events.
“We’re really excited by this format and how it can help tackle head-on one of the biggest personal barriers when confronting sustainability,” said Wesley Mendy, co-founder of The Sustainable Events Show. “A talk you sit in on is often either too basic or too advanced for the individual. We want people to be able to find content that meets them where they are, whether they’re new to the subject or already much further along their sustainability journey.”
Mendy said the format could also help agencies, suppliers and corporate event teams send colleagues to sessions appropriate to their different levels of experience.
The show will feature 80 venues, event services suppliers and event technology companies, alongside an Innovation Hour of five-minute presentations showcasing new products and services.
Other features include a wellbeing and calm zone, complimentary catering and drinks, and dedicated office space for event management and venue-finding agencies. The organisers also say the venue will provide step-free accessibility for physically impaired attendees and a loop hearing system in the seminar theatre.
The Sustainable Events Show says the event will be carbon neutral. Registration is open for the one-day exhibition, which runs from 8.30am to 4pm.
