TEAMS Europe will be held at world-famous sporting venue The
Belfry Hotel & Resort next year – a brand new home for the show.
Northstar
Meetings Group has announced the annual sports-event conference and expo will
take place at the West Midlands hotel and resort, famed for some of the Ryder Cup’s
most dramatic moments. The event will be held March 17–19, 2026.
"We
are absolutely thrilled to announce that TEAMS Europe ’26 will be hosted at The
Belfry, an iconic and world-class venue,” said Jason Gewirtz, vice president
and MD of the Northstar Meetings Group sports division. “Moving to The Belfry
represents an incredible opportunity to elevate the experience for our
attendees and exhibitors. With its outstanding facilities, picturesque setting,
and renowned hospitality, we are confident that The Belfry will provide the
perfect backdrop for meaningful connections, innovative programming, and
unforgettable moments. We can't wait to welcome everyone to this exciting new
chapter for TEAMS Europe in 2026."
Katie
Niland, commercial director for The Belfry Hotel & Resort, said: "The
Belfry is proud to host TEAMS Europe ’26 in March 2026, uniting the
sports-events community at a venue renowned for its sporting legacy. With our
rich heritage and strong alignment with the world of sports, we are the perfect
stage for this prestigious event, bringing together industry leaders to shape
the future of sports tourism and business. We are thrilled to be part of the
announcement and look forward to an exciting journey ahead."
TEAMS Europe is the offshoot of Northstar’s TEAMS Conference
and Expo, the world’s largest gathering for professionals involved in producing
and managing sport events, including event organisers and the destinations and
suppliers who support them. TEAMS is an acronym for “Travel, Events and
Management in Sports”. The 2025 edition took place at the Tottenham Hotspur
Stadium in London.
Situated in
the heart of the country in Sutton Coldfield, The Belfry is less than 10 miles
from the centre of Birmingham and is home to 300-plus luxurious bedrooms and
suites, several restaurants and bars, events and meetings spaces, a leisure
club and The Belfry Spa.
The Belfry is undergoing an £80 million development project that includes an overhaul of The Masters Suite, its largest event space at 852 sqm, and the addition of 149 bedrooms. Thanks to
its three golf courses, which include the world class The Brabazon and PGA
National, The Belfry has hosted golf’s Ryder Cup four times - more than any
other venue in the world.
Neil Rami, chief executive of the West Midlands Growth
Company, said: “The West Midlands is at the heart of sport in the UK, with a
track record of hosting successful business events, so it is fitting that one
of the region’s world-class sporting settings The Belfry will host TEAMS Europe '26.
“Sport helps to put a region on the international stage and
the West Midlands has consistently shown that it has the passion,
infrastructure and expertise to put on a memorable and productive conference
for delegates.”
