Royal Mail became the first user of Agiito’s new real-time booking function.

The business travel, meetings and events agency, Agiito, announced in August it was enabling its live availability solution function for its meetings and events customers.

Using Agiito’s exiting Meetingspro technology, this new function enables bookers to view rates and venue availability in real-time, before submitting an enquiry.

After assessing its customers’ booking profiles, and recognising the technology aligned to Royal Mail Groups’ booking patterns, Agiito approached Royal Mail Group to pilot the new functionality.

“I’ve been working very closely with the Agiito team and regularly offer my feedback as they adapt their technology. Feedback from EAs so far is that they are excited to use this, as it will enable them to make short lead bookings quicker,” said Royal Mail Group procurement manager, Eloise Ferrara-Neched.

Agiito director of venue find and events, Caroline Medcalf added: “It is important that we match our customers’ booking profiles to ensure the technology will enhance their overall programmes, working in tandem with our experienced offline venue finding team.

“Our customers are already seeing the benefits of the online tool, with 19,000 online bookings made so far this year and 50 per cent of October’s enquiries submitted online – demonstrating that Meetingspro is becoming more popular for small meetings. This means our dedicated offline Venue Finding team can focus their expertise on completing more complex bookings and giving our customers the choice so they get the best service possible.”
