Event technology company Hire Space and MeetEngland, the official tourism board promoting England as a meetings destination, part of VisitEngland, have collaborated on a content series aimed at demystifying artificial intelligence (AI) for event planners.

The collaboration seeks to provide valuable insights and practical guidance on leveraging AI to enhance event planning and execution and comes at a pivotal time when AI is increasingly becoming a cornerstone of event planning.

The content collaboration covers:

●      AI and Creative Event Design: New Opportunities for Event Planners: Read here.

●      6 Weeks to 6 Hours: How AI is Changing How Business Planners Book Venues: Read here.

●      How AI is Making Sustainability Simpler in Events: Coming soon

The series explains how new technology has emerged in recent years that offers significant time-saving benefits for event planners, and investigates the benefits for the supply side of the industry, especially venues and convention bureaus (CVBs).

The Venue Sourcing article explores the evolution of technology in the sector and discusses the impact of smart AI Agents, Smart Content Generation and Price Benchmarking. It asks whether our ability to create events with less friction signals the start of a “golden age” for event planners, with an increasing number of events likely to be planned.

The Creative Event Planning article looks at how event planners can understand their audience at scale, create personalised experiences and turbocharge interactivity. It sheds light on some of the simple third-party tools that planners can adopt to start their AI journeys.

Edward Poland, co-founder of Hire Space and a contributor to the series, said: “AI opens up exciting new avenues for event planners, allowing us to do more with less, and so build bigger and more impactful event programs. Our goal for this series is to contribute to industry discourse on this topic, and help event planners across the sector take their first steps to understanding and using new technology.”

Paul Black, head of business events at MeetEngland, said: “Smart technology offers new possibilities for inclusive and innovative event design as well as tools to deliver events more efficiently. Some event professionals will embrace these tools quickly while others adapt at their own pace, but it’s important for us all to stay informed on new developments as we follow this journey together.

“The role of destination and city convention bureaus will continue to play a pivotal role alongside these developments in providing impartial and personalised expertise. We’re grateful to our partners at Hire Space for lending their expertise to help educate the sector and illuminate the ways in which AI can enhance the value of in-person gatherings and interactions, which will remain the cornerstone of the events industry.”
