Corporate event planners from companies including Clearview Financial Media, Morningstar and global law firm Kennedys have joined the consultation process for Hire Space’s Safer Events accreditation programme.
Launched at Business and Events in a Post-Pandemic World - Part 1, the Safer Events accreditation provides a framework for venues and planners to conduct events of a limited size and scope within government guidelines.
The accreditation provides evidence that an event, or venue, has been independently verified to meet a set of measures that minimise the risk of transmission of infectious agents such as Covid-19. All assessments will be conducted by a fully qualified Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management, and certified by the Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register.
These measures have been built in collaboration with event planners, venues and delegates, to exceed all existing government and WHO guidelines and follow best practice adopted by industry associations and countries emerging early from lockdown. The programme covers elements such as delegate communications, event engagement, management of partners for PPE sourcing and delivery, as well as comprehensive safety measures.
Natalie Shattock, senior event manager EMEA at Morningstar, said: “We’re delighted to be joining this process, which will help build momentum in our sector and support venues and the wider supply chain, as well as instilling confidence in our would-be delegates by demonstrating that we are prioritising their safety. It’s great to be actively planning events with fellow professionals again.”
The Safer Events accreditation is available for both venues and event organisers. Accredited venues will receive a digital and framed certificate, as well as window decals and an updated profile on hirespace.com to communicate the accreditation to delegates.
Edward Poland, co-founder at Hire Space said “Venues will be able to include the Safer Events Accreditation on their profile on hirespace.com, which will list a full set of the measures the venue has taken to ensure delegate safety. This will put their safety measures front and centre for our client base”
Event organisers will receive digital and paper certification and a delegate communication pack to help convey these measures to delegates.
