The Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) will transform from a vaccination centre back to an event venue for the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine’s (BSLM) fifth annual conference.
EICC CEO Marshall Dallas, said: “It’s a significant moment to be on the cusp of opening our doors to a major conference and, of course, as we return to events, the health and safety of all attendees and our team is our top priority”.
Delegates of BSLM2021 will convene in Edinburgh between 2-4 September to engage in the study of lifestyle medicine – a discipline aimed at improving health and wellbeing, and tackling chronic, lifestyle-related diseases.

Dr Rob Lawson, retired East Lothian-based GP, and BSLM chairman and founder, added: “How clinicians and healthcare systems can support people to live healthier lives is one of the key challenges of our age – and this is the core focus of our conference.”
Alongside BSLM2021, EICC Live series is returning to the venue for the first time since the pandemic began. EICC Live is a free public talk series that takes place in conjunction with conferences in order to make the content accessible to those outside the discipline.
This year’s EICC Live will take place on the evening of Thursday 2 September. Attendees will hear from three lifestyle health professionals - Dr Nilesh Satgurunathan, Dr Dimple Devadas, and Dr Andrew Morrice. They will discuss mental health and wellbeing issues that affect people’s lives inside and outside of the workplace.
EICC Live has been running free public lectures since 2016, with speakers including adventure cyclist Mark Beaumont and pureLiFi founder Professor Harald Haas. You can register for your ticket here.
