Event sustainability group isla is bringing together some of the biggest names in the UK events sector as it looks to bring to life a new best practice and guidance tool for event professionals called proseed.

The event on Wednesday 30 June will see representatives from isla’s 72-strong agency, corporate, venue and supplier community convene to discuss one of the key sustainability issues affecting events businesses around the world. Isla is also inviting other UK events businesses and brands, who are also looking to improve their own positive impacts on local, national and international communities.

“We believe we have the answer to one of the biggest challenges facing sustainability-minded businesses in the events industry,” said Anna Abdelnoor, co-founder of isla. “We’re looking forward to welcoming any events-based business that cares about the environment to come along and hear what we have to say.”

As part of the event, isla has invited some of the experts involved in the development of the new tool, including; Ed Gillespie, Energy Revolution, and author of ‘Only Planet' - making energy exciting; Bethan Riach, ecolibrium - insights into tackling travel impacts in our UK events industry; Eleanor Morris , WRAP - Waste: doing more with less; and Juliane Caillouette-Noble, Sustainable Restaurant Association - debunking ‘sustainable’ eating. There will also be a panel consisting of Selina Donald, sustainability director and founder of The Bulb, David Ball, CEO of Brandfuel and Sam Trevenna, MD, Goose Live Events.

The event is open to brands, agencies, event suppliers, venues, in-house teams and exhibition organisers and anyone else involved in the creation and production of events, no matter how large or small.
